For one, I felt my conviction and enthusiasm flare. When I walked by and they offered, I declared "NO WAY! VEGAN ALL DAY!" They wore T-shirts with a cow on the back speaking a conversation bubble that read "G'Day!" ... Right. "G'Day!" is what the cows say when their babies are being stolen from them. Suuuure.
Which bought me to anger. All around me people were slurping free yogurt off of little paper spoons, and in addition to it being really unattractive, it just kind of pissed me off. How is everyone so ignorant to the truth about dairy?
Yet, I have to admit my internal conflict of jealousy. Yogurt tastes good, and secretly I wanted to eat one. Fortunately, more of me wanted to hold Vegan Strong. Ultimately, the work of finding more compassion and more patience is mine. Jealousy and anger derive from fear, so I must always remind myself that all I can do is be positive, cultivate more unconditional love for humanity and myself and do my best to be a shining representative for a Vegan lifestyle!
Slurp away little cow buddy! It IS for you!
