TODAY, I did it!

Okay, so here's the thing...though a dedicated vegetarian of 5 years, I want very badly to be Vegan. A couple years ago I was able to sustain a vegan diet for about 6 months and it was due to a book I read called "The Most Noble Diet: Food Selection and Ethics" by George Eisman. The book caused me to relive an extremely painful childhood memory while visiting my Aunt and (ex)Uncle's dairy farm in California. As a 7 year old in love with animals, it was beyond amazing for me to witness the birth of a baby calf. To my horror, within minutes of the calf's birth, it was torn from it's mother. I could not comprehend under what circumstances it would ever be okay to take a baby away from it's mother.

Now, I know. The baby calf, a male (therefore worthless to the farm since he will not produce milk) was kept in a tiny box and sold for veal. The mother, abused and over-milked until the time when she would again be artificially inseminated and eventually sent to slaughter herself.

Adopting a vegan diet requires an EXTREME commitment to reading labels. Milk and Soy are contained within virtually EVERY product you can find in the grocery store. And if they are not explicitly included, then the foodstuff was likely "Made in a facility that processes milk and soy" or it will read, "May Contain Milk." Right. Ok.

Considering these two poisons are some of the most detrimental toxins to the human body and hugely contribute to calcification of our Pineal Gland (Third Eye) it is no surprise that the "Food" Industrial Complex has created such a design, but I digress.

The point of this post is to develop a way for me to hold myself accountable. TODAY, I did it. Today, I did not consume any dairy products, anything processed with dairy or anything that "may contain dairy". Currently website-less, I plan to use facebook as my blogging platform to cultivate will power, strength and courage to continue this new lifestyle choice. One day at a time. Day by day in every way, I am getting better and better. Glory to God, I am so thankful.
If anyone out there in facebook land would like to join me in this choice to take a stand for the animals, actualize a healthier version of your own physical, mental and spiritual self as well as relieve environmental stress from our Mother Earth, I invite you to comment, share your own experience and/or tag someone else looking to join the community. THANK YOU!!! Much Love!!
