In the past, I would have just eaten the extra slice of toast with butter and jelly I made for my boyfriend's breakfast this morning, but not this morning. It had butter, so it's not for me. I'm really against wasting food. I acknowledge and give thanks for how blessed I am to have fresh water and healthy food at my fingertips, so the idea of having to throw something away creates a bit of guilt.
Yet, if I were to have eaten it, after I already had my fill of
breakfast in the proportioned amount for my body, I'd feel physically
and emotionally worse. Fortunately, I am left with a new opportunity to
have better judgement when cooking to ensure that I minimize waste.
My Mom's motto has always been "better to have too much than not enough" and this I agree with for foods that can be eaten as left overs. Something like toast? Easier to make one more if he's still hungry than to toss the extra.
So now I say, with great joy...GOOD BYE to the extraneous group of "Just Cuz" foods! No more cheetos, left over cheese fries, pizza bites, uneaten toast or whatever other superfluous dairy filled snacks that may enter my experience. #FeelingFree
